Titanic Museum will honor lives, kick off holiday season with Titanic Thanksgiving Fireworks spectacular

In the Smokies, fireworks aren’t just for the Fourth of July – at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge will host “the largest Thanksgiving fireworks event of the year on the Parkway.”

The Thanksgiving night show is to honor the lives and legacies of the ship’s passengers, crew and rescuers.

Guests can also meet and have their picture taken with the Titanic Fantasy Princess at 7 p.m. Nov. 26 and noon to 6 p.m. on Nov. 27 and 28. The princess will “embody the holiday season’s magic and mystery shared by the children of 1912 and today,” the museum’s Web site states.

She is part of the annual Titanic Christmas and Winter Tribute, which features thousands of holiday lights, Edwardian style decorations, costumed merry-makers and a gift shop featuring one-of-a-kind Titanic selections.

The Titanic Museum opened on April 8, 2010. Guests have enjoyed a unique and memorable experience ever since, with visitors receiving a boarding pass of an actual Titanic passenger/crew member; viewing Titanic artifacts worth more than $4.5 million; walking along the $1 million exact replica of the ship’s Grand Staircase; touching an iceberg and feeling 28-degree water; shoveling coal in the Boiler Room; learning how to send an SOS distress signal; experiencing the sloping decks of the ship’s stern as she descended; sitting in an actual size lifeboat and hearing true passenger stories; visiting Tot Titanic, an interactive area for young guests ages 8 and under; and discovering their passenger’s fate in the Titanic Memorial Room.
